You should not need to compile or backport anything for virtio-net or virtio-blk. Thanks!=20 The kernels you are looking at are very old. I'm afraid I don't have the information. You will have to search around yourself and maybe check git.kernel.org for old repos. However, I suggest you get in touch with the distros you are using. Maybe they have already done the work of backporting virtio drivers.
