Recently I bought an Audiophile USB and managed to get it to work using alsa. I tested countless different alsa releases in attempting to get the card to work, or work more fully. As far as I can tell the card will only work for playback alone using the usb-audio driver in alsa drivers version 0.9.0rc5. It works quite nicely in performing this simple tast alsa i must say, i'm getting latency times that make the windows drivers pale into insignificance! Pretty much every other release since 0.9.0rc5 through to the current 0.9.2 either "half works" (when it plays sound you get whitenoise/yummy digital nastiness) or doesn't seem to work at all aside from some clicks and pops when i scroll around an audio file in XMMS. I was wondering if the developers know what they've changed since 0.9.0rc5 to stop the usb-audio driver from working with this card and if they intend to re-implement support in future versions? I was also wondering if it is possible to get this card to capture and do midi in/out?
I'm not an alsa/linux expert, but i'd be happy to test and report results for early version drivers that seek to get this card working in a fuller manner.
Cheers,
Jonathan
