I am slowly turning my computer into the center of my home theater.music system. It is my front-end (cd/dvdplayer) and my preamp/processor.. I want to learn how to create plug-ins for programs such as XMMS, that allow me to do things with audio that an audophiles do now (and will do) with there processors. I have the following in mind: DVD-Audio and SACD playback (once the PC drives arrive) Upsampling of 44.1 material to 24/96 and 24/192 Dolby Pro Logic III and Dolby ES processing Creating my own music DSP modes Are there any books that cover programming in these areas?
