Subject: reboots after recompile with ACPI
Date: 03 Jan 2003 02:46:32 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <1041561998.1263.33.camel@Unixuser> (raw)

Hi,
Trying to get my new desktop system to shutdown properly, (an AMD 2200+
with a chaintech 7vjl chipset viaKT333), I recompiled my RH8.0 kernel to
the 2.4.20 with the patch acpi-20021212.. rebooted the machine and in
grub
imediatly after pressing enter to boot the new kernel, the system just
reboots... I have been messing with this new kernel (2.4.20) and it
works
without any glitch without this patch.. Any ideas? Any help would be
welcome!

Btw shouldn't I be able to compile the kernel with acpi as a module?
that
option is disabled for me.. And what is this CPU Enumeration only
option?

Thanks for your time! Any help, would help! cause i'm out of ideas..
