Hi,

as this is mainly a GRUB inspired release, i spam
grub-devel by an announcement.

xorriso-0.5.4 offers the grub-mkisofs features
which are used by grub-mkrescue 1.98.

For general info about xorriso see
  http://www.gnu.org/software/xorriso/README_xorriso
  http://www.gnu.org/software/xorriso/xorriso_eng.html
  http://www.gnu.org/software/xorriso/man_1_xorriso.html

GNU xorriso (GPLv3+) can be built from
  ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/xorriso/xorriso-0.5.4.tar.gz
by
  tar xzf .../xorriso-0.5.4.tar.gz
  cd xorriso-0.5.4
  ./configure && make
and optional
  make install

A GPLv2+ build based on three dynamic libraries
can be made from
  http://files.libburnia-project.org/releases/libisofs-0.6.30.tar.gz
  http://files.libburnia-project.org/releases/libburn-0.8.0.pl00.tar.gz
  http://files.libburnia-project.org/releases/libisoburn-0.5.4.pl00.tar.gz
as described on
  http://libburnia-project.org/wiki/Releases
(xorriso is part of libisoburn-*.tar.gz).
libisofs can be used by Brasero.
libburn and libisofs are dependencies of xfburn.
