Subject: [Q] [PATCH] remove err macro from few usb devices
Date: Wed, 19 Nov 2008 04:34:48 +0300	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <1227058488.2389.48.camel@tux.localhost> (raw)

Hello, developers

This patch is for reviewing, critics and testing :)
It removes err macro from few usb devices. Actually, this are:
dabusb.c
pvrusb2-v4l2.c
s2255drv.c
usbvision-core.c
usbvision-i2c.c
usbvision-video.c
I figured out that gspca and dvb modules have it's own err macro
defined. This patch doesn't cover few usb webcams that depend on V4Lv1
module(or layer).
Beside placing dev_err, patch defines new s2255_dev_err() macro with
#define S2255_DRIVER_NAME "s2255" in s2255 module. It places pr_err in
pvrusb2-v4l2.c And it place dev_err in dabusb and in usbvision drivers.

What is the way i compiled it ? I removed err macro
from /usr/src/linux/include/linux/usb.h and compiled all modules(beside
v4l v1 webcams) in v4l-dvb tree. Compiled fine.

Can i ask you for testing this patch ?
