Using Rich's excellent guestfish program, you see this:
$> guestfish
Welcome to guestfish, the libguestfs filesystem interactive shell for
editing virtual machine filesystems.
Type: 'help' for help with commands
'quit' to quit the shell
><fs> add /var/lib/libvirt/images/rawhide-2009-05-12.img
><fs> run
qemu: loading initrd (0x220c2e6 bytes) at 0x0000000015de3000
><fs> list-partitions
/dev/sda1
