Subject: Experience with Xen and DMI?
Date: Mon, 22 Nov 2004 18:33:24 -0800	[thread overview]

Hi,

Does anyone have experience reading the serial number from their machine's motherboard using DMI? I'm using Xen 2.0.1 and am trying to boot dom0. For reasons obscure, my dom0 linux init scripts need to be able to read the serial number off the motherboard via DMI. This works fine when I don't use Xen. It doesn't work under Xen, although the rest of the boot process seems OK. I'm not really interested in help debugging why not at this point -- for now I'm just wondering if this type of thing is even known to be supported at the moment?

Thanks,

jt
