You mean similiar to what mic does for Tizen?

AFAIK the code uses a direct imager plugin that currently has no support
for backends. On the other hand, the imported mic code should support
yum and zypper.

I thought that packages are already installed into rootfs using a
package manager (somewhere between the lines in meta/lib/oe/rootfs.py)?
