Of course I've been sure because I updated grub2 via apt / synaptic (the Debian way).
But how to verify? Lets see:
- uninstall all grub stuff with synaptic.
- search for files left on disk by uninstall: oops: /boot/grub/ still exists!
- deleting all grub relevant files manually (/boot/grub/ and /etc/grub.d/)
- emptying apt-cache (/var/apt/cache)
- reinstall grub-pc via synaptic: only 2 files in /boot/grub
- grub-install /dev/hda9: still no /boot/grub/grub.cfg there.
- update-grub & restoring my modified grub.cfg
- reboot
-> Now it works properly
-> Seemed to be an interferrence between old versions.
-> I'm sorry for the trouble, its fine now. Thanks a lot.
Christian
