I fail to see how this patch meets the stable kernel rules as found at Documentation/stable_kernel_rules.txt. I could be totally wrong, and if so, please respond to and let me know why this patch should be applied. Otherwise, it is now dropped from my patch queues, never to be seen again. thanks, greg k-h ------------------ original commit in Linus's tree ------------------ >>From d77976c414ed7f521b9c79b2a9dde0147a3cf754 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Vineet Gupta Date: Wed, 17 Aug 2016 17:34:46 -0700 Subject: [PATCH] ARC: export kmap | MODPOST 7 modules | ERROR: "kmap" [fs/ext2/ext2.ko] undefined! | ../scripts/Makefile.modpost:91: recipe for target '__modpost' failed Cc: Signed-off-by: Vineet Gupta diff --git a/arch/arc/mm/highmem.c b/arch/arc/mm/highmem.c index 04f83322c9fd..77ff64a874a1 100644 --- a/arch/arc/mm/highmem.c +++ b/arch/arc/mm/highmem.c @@ -61,6 +61,7 @@ void *kmap(struct page *page) return kmap_high(page); } +EXPORT_SYMBOL(kmap); void *kmap_atomic(struct page *page) {
