Date: Mon, 18 Dec 2017 14:54:26 +0100	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <1513605266241145@kroah.com> (raw)

This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled

    net: initialize msg.msg_flags in recvfrom

to the 4.4-stable tree which can be found at:
    http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary

The filename of the patch is:
     net-initialize-msg.msg_flags-in-recvfrom.patch
and it can be found in the queue-4.4 subdirectory.

If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree,
please let <stable@vger.kernel.org> know about it.

Subject: net: initialize msg.msg_flags in recvfrom

From: Alexander Potapenko <glider@google.com>

[ Upstream commit 9f138fa609c47403374a862a08a41394be53d461 ]

KMSAN reports a use of uninitialized memory in put_cmsg() because
msg.msg_flags in recvfrom haven't been initialized properly.
The flag values don't affect the result on this path, but it's still a
good idea to initialize them explicitly.
