Date: Mon, 01 Jan 2018 13:44:58 +0100	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <151481069818788@kroah.com> (raw)

This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled

    phy: tegra: fix device-tree node lookups

to the 4.14-stable tree which can be found at:
    http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/stable/stable-queue.git;a=summary

The filename of the patch is:
     phy-tegra-fix-device-tree-node-lookups.patch
and it can be found in the queue-4.14 subdirectory.

If you, or anyone else, feels it should not be added to the stable tree,
please let <stable@vger.kernel.org> know about it.

Subject: phy: tegra: fix device-tree node lookups

From: Johan Hovold <johan@kernel.org>

commit 046046737bd35bed047460f080ea47e186be731e upstream.

Fix child-node lookups during probe, which ended up searching the whole
device tree depth-first starting at the parents rather than just
matching on their children.

To make things worse, some parent nodes could end up being being
prematurely freed (by tegra_xusb_pad_register()) as
of_find_node_by_name() drops a reference to its first argument.
