Subject: patch "iio: adc: mediatek: fix unset field" added to staging-linus
Date: Tue, 17 Nov 2020 10:53:21 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <1605606801896@kroah.com> (raw)
This is a note to let you know that I've just added the patch titled
iio: adc: mediatek: fix unset field
to my staging git tree which can be found at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/staging.git
in the staging-linus branch.
The patch will show up in the next release of the linux-next tree
(usually sometime within the next 24 hours during the week.)
The patch will hopefully also be merged in Linus's tree for the
next -rc kernel release.
If you have any questions about this process, please let me know.

Subject: iio: adc: mediatek: fix unset field
dev_comp field is used in a couple of places but it is never set. This
results in kernel oops when dereferencing a NULL pointer. Set the
`dev_comp` field correctly in the probe function.
