Subject: cirrusfb disabled in latest fedora rawhide 3.2.0-rc2
Date: Sat, 19 Nov 2011 19:39:41 -0500	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <1934026.TeqnqBJFlp@dell4550> (raw)

Hey guys - someone might want to talk to fedora about this. Between
3.2.0-0.rc2.git3.1.fc17 & 3.2.0-0.rc2.git1.1.fc17, fedora's changelog says:

< * Fri Nov 18 2011 Josh Boyer <jwboyer@redhat.com> 3.2.0-0.rc2.git3.1
< - Linux 3.2-rc2-git3
< - Disable various fb and drm drivers that don't have xorg equivalents per
ajax
< - Other minor config cleanup

resulting in:

root@insp6400 11/19/11 7:19PM:/boot/grub
[504] > grep CIRR ../config-3.2.0-*
../config-3.2.0-0.rc2.git1.1.fc17.x86_64:CONFIG_FB_CIRRUS=m
../config-3.2.0-0.rc2.git1.1.fc17.x86_64:CONFIG_SND_HDA_CODEC_CIRRUS=y
../config-3.2.0-0.rc2.git3.1.fc17.x86_64:# CONFIG_FB_CIRRUS is not set
../config-3.2.0-0.rc2.git3.1.fc17.x86_64:CONFIG_SND_HDA_CODEC_CIRRUS=y

The funny thing is, xorg does have an "equivalent" cirrus driver to match the
kernel driver.
