Summary: Alsa mixer lack of some functions
Description:
Is it possible to add to the alsa-mixer the possibility to change these
things:
- dolby surround configurations: 2.0, 2.1, 4.0, 4.1, 5.1, 7.1 and the
possibility to duplicate front sound to the rear speakers.
- modify high and basses
best things is changes are immediatelly available without relogging.
These feature are missing to linux community that have always to trouble
with configuration files.
thanx for attention
Marco

Cimmo: Currently it's possible but there's no easy way to do it.
Raymond: PLEASE STOP CONFUSING USERS WITH OFF TOPIC CRYPTIC COMMENTS. I
HAVE ASKED YOU OVER AND OVER.

rlrevell:
I have only understood that there are chips that make in hardware real
surround and duplication front-to-rear speakers and others only real
surround.
My chip seems to have only real surround in hardware and not duplication
right?
So my original bug report come back :)
Is there a way to implement in the alsamixer the possibility to discover
chips that cannot do this duplication in hardware and make it available
via software like in Windows?
If not which soundcard can be bought to have all fantastic hardware stuffs
and well recognized by alsa?
Thanx a lot
