Subject: PROBLEM: Oops in 2.4.18-pre4
Date: Fri, 18 Jan 2002 11:27:03 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20020118112703.C9703@ace.ulyssis.org> (raw)
1. I have a problem with loading the analog module for joystick support.
2. Full description
This problem also exists in 2.4.17. I have an Aureal Vortex 1 PCI
soundcard and compiled all joystick support as module. When I try to
load the analog module, I get an oops:
bifrost:~# modprobe joydev
bifrost:~# modprobe pcigame
PCI: Found IRQ 11 for device 00:10.0
gameport0: Aureal Semiconductor Vortex 1 at pci00:10.0 speed 1657 kHz

3. Kernel version
bifrost:/var/log# cat /proc/version
Linux version 2.4.18-pre4 (root@bifrost) (gcc version 2.95.4 20011006
(Debian prerelease)) #2 SMP Thu Jan 17 17:13:57 CET 2002
4. Output of Oops
ksymoops 2.4.3 on i686 2.4.18-pre4. Options used
-V (default)
-k /proc/ksyms (default)
-l /proc/modules (default)
-o /lib/modules/2.4.18-pre4/ (default)
-m /boot/System.map-2.4.18-pre4 (default)
Warning: You did not tell me where to find symbol information. I will
assume that the log matches the kernel and modules that are running
right now and I'll use the default options above for symbol resolution.
If the current kernel and/or modules do not match the log, you can get
more accurate output by telling me the kernel version and where to find
map, modules, ksyms etc. ksymoops -h explains the options.
