AFter a few deep breaths...

I fully understand they wish to retain rights to do *OTHER* things
with their IP.

However *this* particular usage must be conceded to be totally,
utterly and without reservation under the terms of the GPL. Once
code is under GPL, it is under GPL forever. Period.
