Are you sure? By not using "-m state" it might actually work, how about:
iptables -A FORWARD -o ppp0 -s aaa.bbb.ccc.eee -j ACCEPT
iptables -A FORWARD -o ppp0 -s aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd -m state --state ! INVALID -j ACCEPT
