Just got a new motherboard based on the KT400 chipset (Soltek
SL75-FRV, in case it matters). With 2.4.20-ac2, sound works
fine, except when using RealPlayer for streaming audio or
video. I get tons of this message:
Assertion failed! val <= (chan->frag_size * chan->frag_number),via82cxxx_audio.c,via_dsp_ioctl,line=3065
and the resulting audio is pretty horrible (it stutters, stops,
pauses, repeats fragments etc).
Kernel config:
CONFIG_SOUND=m
CONFIG_SOUND_VIA82CXXX=m
CONFIG_MIDI_VIA82CXXX=y
If you need any other info, let me know.

You should check out the thread called
"Via 8233 flooding of errors [2.4-ac]"
Author's are Nathaniel Russell and Alan Cox
It explains in detail about what Alan is trying to figure out, becuase i
had the same problem with an assertion and he provides a patch which is
experimental like his current Via Audio Driver. What the patch does is
takes the assertion and says if the audio stops then we have a problem
which needs to be sent to Alan and the list. Also Alan would be the person
to ask of any other questions concering the AC driver and Jeff Garzik for
the non AC version of the driver.
