ext3 driver have Hash Tree Directory indexing in kernel 2.5 which
greatly improves performances. I'm not sure but I think that it is
(or will be soon) backported to 2.4.
So we will have ext2 compatibility, speed, journaling and stability in
the *native* Linux FS, I hope. :)
