Subject: Kernel 2.4.20 hangs when loading ACPI on K7SEM mobo
Date: Thu, 3 Apr 2003 10:47:03 -0500	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <200304031047.03566.philippe@gcal.net> (raw)

Kernel 2.4.20 hangs while loading ACPI. The last few lines of
the boot sequence are:

Parsing methods....................
Table [DSFT] - 414 objects with 41 devices 117 methods 28
regions
ACPI namespace successfully loaded at c033a59c

Hangs there and it takes a cold reboot to get the system back to
life. I made no changes in the default BIOS settings except to
turn off the Floppy drive.

ECS K7SEM motherboard with the original BIOS. Kernel is
gentoo-sources-2.4.20-r1. (I am not certain of which ACPI patch
was applied to these sources, but I think it is the one that
came out in November 2002).

TIA
