Subject: Alsa 0.9.0, intel8x0 staticky mess
Date: Sat, 26 Apr 2003 01:14:22 -0700 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <200304260114.22164.n8gray@caltech.edu> (raw)
I'm running Mandrake 9.1 with Alsa 0.9.0rc7, snd-intel8x0 driver, on a
Dell Inspiron 4150. Here are some bits from lspci:
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corp. 82845 845 (Brookdale) Chipset Host
Bridge (rev 04)
00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corp. 82801CA/CAM AC'97 Audio
(rev 02)
Any sounds played end up degenerating into static fuzz after a short
period of time. Occasionally I can successfully play a few seconds of
a song with XMMS, but usually it's impossible. The OSS intel8x0 driver
doesn't have this problem, but I'd like to use Jack so I'm hoping to
get Alsa going successfully.
Please let me know any further info I can provide.
Thank you,
-n8
