I am not sure it can help, but you may consider using the very last CVS code
and start Qemu with the additional arguments "-pci" which enable a PCI plug
and play NE2K card (not an ISA NE2K) and will soon become the default
settings.
Also, you may use the "-cirrusvga" swith which adds a Cirrusvga card.
