Presently, I am stuck trying to speed up recent distros that seem to behave 
like Fedora. Will try "clock=pit" at boot time as proposed by Fabrice.

Then I will review RPM spec files and set-up daily cron jobs to produce the 
RPMs. Let's stay in touch. It can take a few days.
