OK, I'll try it. If it's not working I'm going to download the vanilla
kernel.

I've copied the bfubase.frm file to /usr/lib/hotplug/firmware 
And, yes, I have the firmware.agent scrip under /etc/hotplug.

The firmware request fails with the old and the new file. It makes no
difference. :(
