If you 'see desperate users all the time' you might be amoung the wrong
people ;-)

Maybe you can clue them in the wonderful world of making backups?

Next time it is not their mistake, but instead a broken harddisk.
Undelete wont save them then.

Or they just edited it instead of rm.
