Folks,
I use the listen command at times remotely. When I run it as a terminal
window, I notice that I can no longer page back and look at what has
scrolled off of the screen. I am trying to figure out what I have missed,
but so far am hitting zero.

Chuck - I use the following from putty after logging into the Orlando Linux
FPAC with user/password and the moving to Super User / password and cd to
the ax25 subdirectory:
root@Orlando:/etc/ax25# listen -artc
That gets me the listen screen and a scroll-back on the right side.
However - I cannot change the size/aspect ratio of that screen once active -
it drops the putty link if I mess with that.
Once listen -artc is running, I start a 2nd Putty session the same way and
then:
root@Orlando:/etc/ax25# fpacnode
so i can play as a user!

That is what I am doing, but when I run listen in a consol session on a
linux machine it appears to change the terminal setup and no longer
allow me to view the history of incoming data, this is a listen vs terminal
issue, probably something that I need to set somewhere in the terminal
or the listen attributes. As soon as I start the listen session my history
slider goes away, so it is some interaction with the two apps.

Trying listen via a ssh connection from my Mac Mini, it appears that
if I don't use the 'c' parameter (which invokes ncurses) it will
scroll back properly, but if 'c' invoked, the whole screen scrolls
out of the window. The slider is there in either case.

Or your terminal type is set to linux. Try "echo $TERM" at a shell
prompt. If it is not vt100, try "export TERM=vt100". I assume you
are using bash or ksh. Otherwise use "setenv term vt100" for csh.
That may be all you need. Also, sometimes it works if you hit the
scroll lock, make sure the scroll lock light is lit, and then hit page
up. If that fails, make sure to hit scroll lock again to get your
terminal back to normal scroll (unlocked) mode.

I suggest you run it in screen, which will give you scrollback even if the
OS doesn't such as in case of the limited scrollback abilities of the
Linux console.

Hi Ralf,
I installed linux kernel 2.6.17.1 on my ROSE-FPAC switch box and get
systematically spinlocks within a few minutes, that did not came out
with previous 2.6.16.18 and your patched applied.
After enabling compilation of sysrq for spinlocks and allowing sysrq
options (see linux/Documentation/sysrq.txt) I found that rose module was
involved.
Here is a summary of the screen dump obtained using console level 5 and
't' key action :
softlockup_tick
update_process_times
timer_interrupt
handle_IRQ_event
__do_IRQ
do_IRQ
common_interrupt
delay_tsc
delay_tsc
_raw_spin_lock
_spin_lock_bh
<c8a25646> rose_get_neigh +0x16 /0xa0 [rose]
<c8a25c2c> rose_route_frame +0x41c/0x580 [rose]
<c89d3bfe> ax25_check_iframes_acked +0x5e/0x70 [ax25]
<c89d55e1> ax25_std_frame_in +0x741/0x7e0 [ax25]
ax25_find_cb
ax25_kiss_rcv
autoremove_wake_function
Since spinlock address is always lock: c8a2b3a4
I guess that the problem is in rose_route_frame ?
What other report can I provide in order to help ?

Hi Ralf,
I amnot sure this message go through, so I send it again.
I installed linux kernel 2.6.17.1 (now -3) on my ROSE-FPAC switch box
and got systematically spinlocks within a few minutes, that did not came
out with previous 2.6.16.23 and your patched applied.
After enabling compilation of sysrq for spinlocks and allowing sysrq
options (see linux/Documentation/sysrq.txt) I found that rose module was
involved.
