I have no problem with that. I can set $PATH.
But then I'd suggest to change magic #!
from #!/usr/bin/perl
to #!/usr/bin/env perl
for *.perl
It that what you meant?

PS: Please note that
#!/usr/bin/env perl -w
will not work on some platforms (at least on HP-UX)...
