Actually, these are both regressions from 1.95 :-/

  - LVM has at least one regression.  I introduced it in:

	determine partition map module.
	* util/i386/pc/grub-install.in: Use this feature to decide which

    Sam Morris has been working on it.  Not sure what the current status is.
