How do you share the IDE controller for CD-ROM use? I would venture to suggest that any PV disk driver also provide the neccessary CDROM capabilities. During installation of guests, even on baremetal, the CDROM is a serious bottleneck on install time so much so that I never install off CDROM anymore instead using network sources. The emulated CDROM amplifies this problem, so having the PV drivers support CDROM capabilities could be very beneficial Regards, Dan. -- |=- Red Hat, Engineering, Emerging Technologies, Boston. +1 978 392 2496 -=| |=- Perl modules: http://search.cpan.org/~danberr/ -=| |=- Projects: http://freshmeat.net/~danielpb/ -=| |=- GnuPG: 7D3B9505 F3C9 553F A1DA 4AC2 5648 23C1 B3DF F742 7D3B 9505 -=|
