known problem, it is not kvm specific either (as the implementation comes
AS-IS from qemu) so if you are going to propose a fix it would be better
sent to qemu so it will be picked up by kvm in the next merge cycle.

this is why it is mostly ignored as a minor issue for now, I presume.
