Lets address issues one at a time, you should not face througput issues on 2.6.28
if you are then its a bug! If its something we can fix we can try to merge it for 2.6.28
but it requires a lot of driver changes most likely your best bet is to use wireless-testing
or compat-wireless. Please see our guide on how to get the latest ath9k driver [1].
