Oops - I meant .drirc in your home dir, not .driconf - the contents I use to
disable s3tc are -

<device screen="0" driver="r600">
<application name="Default">
<option name="force_s3tc_enable" value="false" />
<option name="disable_s3tc" value="true" />
</application>
</device>
</driconf>
