From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: akpm@linux-foundation.org Subject: [patch 155/177] dma-mapping: rename ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN to ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN Date: Tue, 10 Aug 2010 18:03:22 -0700 Message-ID: <201008110103.o7B13Mnx027474@imap1.linux-foundation.org> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ANSI_X3.4-1968 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Return-path: Received: from smtp1.linux-foundation.org ([140.211.169.13]:39013 "EHLO smtp1.linux-foundation.org" rhost-flags-OK-OK-OK-OK) by vger.kernel.org with ESMTP id S1757575Ab0HKBD7 (ORCPT ); Tue, 10 Aug 2010 21:03:59 -0400 Sender: linux-arch-owner@vger.kernel.org List-ID: To: torvalds@linux-foundation.org Cc: akpm@linux-foundation.org, fujita.tomonori@lab.ntt.co.jp, linux-arch@vger.kernel.org From: FUJITA Tomonori Now each architecture has the own dma_get_cache_alignment implementation. dma_get_cache_alignment returns the minimum DMA alignment. Architectures define it as ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN (it's used to make sure that malloc'ed buffer is DMA-safe; the buffer doesn't share a cache with the others). So we can unify dma_get_cache_alignment implementations. This patch: dma_get_cache_alignment() needs to know if an architecture defines ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN or not (needs to know if architecture has DMA alignment restriction). However, slab.h define ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN if architectures doesn't define it. Let's rename ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN to ARCH_DMA_MINALIGN. ARCH_KMALLOC_MINALIGN is used only in the internals of slab/slob/slub (except for crypto).
