Subject: + lockup-detector-sync-touch__watchdog-back-to-old-semantics.patch added to -mm tree
Date: Thu, 26 Aug 2010 14:34:50 -0700 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <201008262134.o7QLYodm015796@imap1.linux-foundation.org> (raw)
The patch titled
lockup detector: sync touch_*_watchdog back to old semantics
has been added to the -mm tree. Its filename is
lockup-detector-sync-touch__watchdog-back-to-old-semantics.patch
Before you just go and hit "reply", please:
a) Consider who else should be cc'ed
b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well
c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a
reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's
*** Remember to use Documentation/SubmitChecklist when testing your code ***
See http://userweb.kernel.org/~akpm/stuff/added-to-mm.txt to find
out what to do about this

Subject: lockup detector: sync touch_*_watchdog back to old semantics
From: Don Zickus <dzickus@redhat.com>
During my rewrite, the semantics of touch_nmi_watchdog and
touch_softlockup_watchdog changed enough to break some drivers (mostly
over preemptable regions).
This change brings those touch_*_watchdog functions back in line to how
they used to work.
