I can confirm this problem with a Quadro NVS 140M (G84M, I think).
The problem does not appear with the nvidia driver and seems specific to
nouveau. I haven't tried nouveau under KDE 4.4, but if really did behave
different it seems like to be a specific XRender blend function or similar that
has a bug in it. Either Qt 4.7 or KDE 4.5 could have started to use a function
optimizing something that was done in software before, thus exposing the bug.
The question is not what function that is, and if the change was in KDE or Qt.
