A natural next step would be to use some printks to find when exactly
it is freezing (as illustrated in the patch below)[2]. If it's still
not clear after that what's causing it to hang, then bisecting[1]
through the -rt patch stack can isolate the specific change that
causes it (I can walk you through that).
