The channel doesn't matter in my case.

It is always 14dbm. Trying to change it manually to a higher value fails:
Error for wireless request "Set Tx Power" (8B26) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Invalid argument.
All my other laptops have 19dBm.
I have also just noticed a new symptom: in order to check the tx-power
value, I have disconnected my other laptops from the AP, rebooted the AP. I
was then able to connect to my AP. When re-connecting another laptop to the
AP, the AR9285 laptop has dropped the connection, and is now unable to
connect again to the AP (until the next AP reboot).
