Subject: Regression: Screen goes black on KMS
Date: Fri, 4 Nov 2011 23:28:07 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20111104222807.GB2175@slate> (raw)
[-- Attachment #1: Type: text/plain, Size: 627 bytes --]
Hello,
between 3.1 and cc03bbf1 on linux-next there has been a regression which
causes the screen to go black (not blank, backlight is still lit) on
KMS. The system runs fine in the background and, to all it seems, X even
starts, but the screen is black and useless.
8086:0046 (rev 18) VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller
(System is an EEE Slate).
Attached is a diff between the dmesg in normal operation and the dmesg
when the screen goes black
diff -u <(egrep -o '\].*' FAULT) <(egrep -o '\].*' WORKING)
I'll try to bisect the problem as soon as I can.
thank you
