Here is the link to Canonical's bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/559163 Paul Bolle said correctly that this trick depends on primary BIOS password being asked upon resuming. It did not work for me on a Dell Inspiron 600m (which is a "consumer" sister model of D600).
