Subject: [PATCH 4.4 090/114] ipv6: mcast: fix a use-after-free in inet6_mc_check
Date: Thu, 8 Nov 2018 13:51:45 -0800 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20181108215108.933341898@linuxfoundation.org> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <20181108215059.051093652@linuxfoundation.org>
4.4-stable review patch. If anyone has any objections, please let me know.
------------------
From: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com>
[ Upstream commit dc012f3628eaecfb5ba68404a5c30ef501daf63d ]
syzbot found a use-after-free in inet6_mc_check [1]
The problem here is that inet6_mc_check() uses rcu
and read_lock(&iml->sflock)
So the fact that ip6_mc_leave_src() is called under RTNL
and the socket lock does not help us, we need to acquire
iml->sflock in write mode.
In the future, we should convert all this stuff to RCU.
