Subject: [PATCH 4.4 05/88] rtnetlink: ndo_dflt_fdb_dump() only work for ARPHRD_ETHER devices
Date: Fri, 14 Dec 2018 12:59:39 +0100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20181214115702.506862756@linuxfoundation.org> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <20181214115702.151309521@linuxfoundation.org>
4.4-stable review patch. If anyone has any objections, please let me know.
------------------
From: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com>
[ Upstream commit 688838934c231bb08f46db687e57f6d8bf82709c ]
kmsan was able to trigger a kernel-infoleak using a gre device [1]
nlmsg_populate_fdb_fill() has a hard coded assumption
that dev->addr_len is ETH_ALEN, as normally guaranteed
for ARPHRD_ETHER devices.
A similar issue was fixed recently in commit da71577545a5
("rtnetlink: Disallow FDB configuration for non-Ethernet device")
