Date: Wed, 21 Jun 2023 17:30:22 -0700	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20230622003023.69F52C433C0@smtp.kernel.org> (raw)

The patch titled
Subject: powerpc: move arch_trigger_cpumask_backtrace from nmi.h to irq.h
has been added to the -mm mm-nonmm-unstable branch. Its filename is
     powerpc-move-arch_trigger_cpumask_backtrace-from-nmih-to-irqh.patch

This patch will shortly appear at
     https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/25-new.git/tree/patches/powerpc-move-arch_trigger_cpumask_backtrace-from-nmih-to-irqh.patch

This patch will later appear in the mm-nonmm-unstable branch at
    git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/mm

Before you just go and hit "reply", please:
   a) Consider who else should be cc'ed
   b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well
   c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a
reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's

*** Remember to use Documentation/process/submit-checklist.rst when testing your code ***

The -mm tree is included into linux-next via the mm-everything
branch at git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/mm
and is updated there every 2-3 working days

Subject: powerpc: move arch_trigger_cpumask_backtrace from nmi.h to irq.h
Date: Wed, 21 Jun 2023 16:48:19 -0700

The powerpc architecture was the only one that defined
arch_trigger_cpumask_backtrace() in asm/nmi.h instead of asm/irq.h.  Move
it to be consistent.

This fixes compile time errors introduced by commit 7ca8fe94aa92
("watchdog/hardlockup: define HARDLOCKUP_DETECTOR_ARCH"). That commit
caused <asm/nmi.h> to stop being included if the hardlockup detector
wasn't enabled. The specific errors were:
error: implicit declaration of function `nmi_cpu_backtrace'
error: implicit declaration of function `nmi_trigger_cpumask_backtrace'
