Its filename is sh-mm-re-add-lost-__ref-to-ioremap_prot-to-fix-modpost-warning.patch This patch will shortly appear at https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/25-new.git/tree/patches/sh-mm-re-add-lost-__ref-to-ioremap_prot-to-fix-modpost-warning.patch This patch will later appear in the mm-hotfixes-unstable branch at git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/mm Before you just go and hit "reply", please: a) Consider who else should be cc'ed b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's *** Remember to use Documentation/process/submit-checklist.rst when testing your code *** The -mm tree is included into linux-next via the mm-everything branch at git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/mm and is updated there every 2-3 working days ------------------------------------------------------ From: Geert Uytterhoeven Subject: sh: mm: re-add lost __ref to ioremap_prot() to fix modpost warning Date: Mon, 11 Sep 2023 11:38:50 +0200 When __ioremap_caller() was replaced by ioremap_prot(), the __ref annotation added in commit af1415314a4190b8 ("sh: Flag __ioremap_caller() __init_refok.") was removed, causing a modpost warning: WARNING: modpost: vmlinux: section mismatch in reference: ioremap_prot+0x88 (section: .text) -> ioremap_fixed (section: .init.text) ioremap_prot() calls ioremap_fixed() (which is marked __init), but only before mem_init_done becomes true, so this is safe. Hence fix this by re-adding the lost __ref.
