Subject: + alsa-ac97-convert-timeouts-to-secs_to_jiffies.patch added to mm-nonmm-unstable branch
Date: Tue, 25 Feb 2025 14:40:10 -0800 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20250225224010.C69DBC4CEE7@smtp.kernel.org> (raw)
The patch titled
Subject: ALSA: ac97: convert timeouts to secs_to_jiffies()
has been added to the -mm mm-nonmm-unstable branch. Its filename is
alsa-ac97-convert-timeouts-to-secs_to_jiffies.patch
This patch will shortly appear at
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/25-new.git/tree/patches/alsa-ac97-convert-timeouts-to-secs_to_jiffies.patch
This patch will later appear in the mm-nonmm-unstable branch at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/mm
Before you just go and hit "reply", please:
a) Consider who else should be cc'ed
b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well
c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a
reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's
*** Remember to use Documentation/process/submit-checklist.rst when testing your code ***
The -mm tree is included into linux-next via the mm-everything
branch at git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/mm
and is updated there every 2-3 working days

Subject: ALSA: ac97: convert timeouts to secs_to_jiffies()
Date: Tue, 25 Feb 2025 20:17:18 +0000
Commit b35108a51cf7 ("jiffies: Define secs_to_jiffies()") introduced
secs_to_jiffies(). As the value here is a multiple of 1000, use
secs_to_jiffies() instead of msecs_to_jiffies() to avoid the
multiplication
This is converted using scripts/coccinelle/misc/secs_to_jiffies.cocci with
the following Coccinelle rules:
@depends on patch@
expression E;
@@
-msecs_to_jiffies
+secs_to_jiffies
(E
- * \( 1000 \| MSEC_PER_SEC \)
)
