Subject: CVE-2026-72393: eth: fbnic: don't cache shinfo across skb realloc
Date: Sat, 15 Aug 2026 15:07:52 +0900	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <2026081520-CVE-2026-72393-158b@gregkh> (raw)

From: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@kernel.org>

Description
===========

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

eth: fbnic: don't cache shinfo across skb realloc

fbnic_tx_lso() calls skb_cow_head() which may reallocate the skb
including the shared info. We can't use the pointer calculated
before the call.

Mitigation
==========

The Linux kernel CVE team recommends that you update to the latest
stable kernel version for this, and many other bugfixes. Individual
changes are never tested alone, but rather are part of a larger kernel
release. Cherry-picking individual commits is not recommended or
supported by the Linux kernel community at all. If however, updating to
the latest release is impossible, the individual changes to resolve this
issue can be found at these commits:
