Add cancel_delayed_work_sync(&dev->mlo_pm_work) in all relevant teardown and suspend paths: - mt7925_mac_reset_work() (chip reset recovery) - mt7925e_unregister_device() (PCIe unbind) - mt7925_pci_suspend() (PCIe bus suspend) - mt7925_suspend() (mac80211 suspend) - mt7925u_suspend() (USB bus / runtime suspend) This ensures the work is stopped before the device state becomes invalid. The Linux kernel CVE team has assigned CVE-2026-89523 to this issue. Affected and fixed versions =========================== Issue introduced in 6.15 with commit 276a568832577c81ec90b62dc506bbdc3781ca46 and fixed in 6.18.50 with commit 5be6d02837d418bc6c805b5cab1b338de6de9ca7 Issue introduced in 6.15 with commit 276a568832577c81ec90b62dc506bbdc3781ca46 and fixed in 7.2.4 with commit c5e073f2fbfd34d22099a50d96f60990799753e2 Issue introduced in 6.15 with commit 276a568832577c81ec90b62dc506bbdc3781ca46 and fixed in 7.3-rc1 with commit 2889e84282dda147f10b10d94cf0efd90a349c53 Issue introduced in 6.14.3 with commit 74eb79258bfd5f2ffe6d26a09c898992b2afa1ce Please see https://www.kernel.org for a full list of currently supported kernel versions by the kernel community. Unaffected versions might change over time as fixes are backported to older supported kernel versions. The official CVE entry at https://cve.org/CVERecord/?id=CVE-2026-89523 will be updated if fixes are backported, please check that for the most up to date information about this issue. Affected files ============== The file(s) affected by this issue are: drivers/net/wireless/mediatek/mt76/mt7925/mac.c drivers/net/wireless/mediatek/mt76/mt7925/main.c drivers/net/wireless/mediatek/mt76/mt7925/pci.c drivers/net/wireless/mediatek/mt76/mt7925/usb.c Mitigation ========== The Linux kernel CVE team recommends that you update to the latest stable kernel version for this, and many other bugfixes. Individual changes are never tested alone, but rather are part of a larger kernel release. Cherry-picking individual commits is not recommended or supported by the Linux kernel community at all. If however, updating to the latest release is impossible, the individual changes to resolve this issue can be found at these commits: https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/5be6d02837d418bc6c805b5cab1b338de6de9ca7 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/c5e073f2fbfd34d22099a50d96f60990799753e2 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/2889e84282dda147f10b10d94cf0efd90a349c53
