Accordingly, add a requisite ACPI_COMPANION() check against NULL to the mlxbf-pmc driver and return -ENODEV when the companion is missing. The Linux kernel CVE team has assigned CVE-2026-93115 to this issue. Affected files ============== The file(s) affected by this issue are: drivers/platform/mellanox/mlxbf-pmc.c Mitigation ========== The Linux kernel CVE team recommends that you update to the latest stable kernel version for this, and many other bugfixes. Individual changes are never tested alone, but rather are part of a larger kernel release. Cherry-picking individual commits is not recommended or supported by the Linux kernel community at all. If however, updating to the latest release is impossible, the individual changes to resolve this issue can be found at these commits: https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/950d8e8375f3ff4787de51b7bdf8dd23a3ad6547 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/fdfb736282b9665c0169df0c4152ec91fdea2767 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/bf1e0cc5cc1d4e71b699fc98cc9198ead0ed53e0 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/a75b84119e56fc34b0f1403f3b93d357a55dabb6 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/71ba8b6e28f7a83b724036f5de07e03bb5473286 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/d25dd08268aeaceb485189aaa84aa6d68a460291 https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/c38cce70adef874c2a7b5132c14d6c221401deff
