The patch titled
Subject: selftests/mm: report the configuration check on stderr
has been added to the -mm mm-unstable branch. Its filename is
selftests-mm-report-the-configuration-check-on-stderr.patch
This patch will shortly appear at
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/25-new.git/tree/patches/selftests-mm-report-the-configuration-check-on-stderr.patch
This patch will later appear in the mm-unstable branch at
git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/mm
Before you just go and hit "reply", please:
a) Consider who else should be cc'ed
b) Prefer to cc a suitable mailing list as well
c) Ideally: find the original patch on the mailing list and do a
reply-to-all to that, adding suitable additional cc's

The -mm tree is included into linux-next via various
branches at git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/mm
and is updated there most days

Subject: selftests/mm: report the configuration check on stderr

The mm Makefile includes local_config.mk, which is generated by a rule
that announces itself with "CHK [config] local_config.mk" on standard
output, which make -s does not suppress. When make has to regenerate the
file while it reads the Makefile for emit_tests, for example on a fresh
tree or when the selftests are installed with make -B, the message
becomes part of the emit_tests output that the selftests install target
appends to kselftest-list.txt, so the runlist gains a line that is not a
test.
Print the message on standard error. With V=1 the message is empty and
only the redirection of an empty command remains.
